A strong movie. Bleak beginning, the whole movie is painted in black colors and the maintains tension until the end. You try to believe until the end that DiCaprio's hero will be able to deny the truth, "who comes here, never come back”. The movie’s mood is reinforced by swirling storm in the island.
The plot seems simple enough: two officers arrive in the island where serious psychiatric patients are kept to investigate mysterious disappearances of single patient. The main character - Marshall, WW2 veteran who has seen the Nazi concentration camp, which once had a family, which somehow strangely died. In short, they start ivestigation and gradually reveal the various points of interest. Experiments with people are carried out on the island. Heros are suspicious of all staff on island that they don‘t want the truth would be revealed.
I like this movie. Martin Scorsese production :)

Stiprus filmas. Niūri pradžia, visas filmas toks niūriom spalvom piešiamas ir žiūrovas iki galo išlaikomas įtampoje. Iki pat galo bandai įtikėti, kad DiCaprio herojui pavyks paneigti tiesą: ”kas čia patenka, atgal nebeišvyksta”. Filmo nuotaiką sustiprina saloje siaučianti audra.
O siužetas atrodo gana paprastas: į salą, kurioje laikomi sunkūs psichiatriniai ligoniai, atvyksta du pareigūnai ištirti mįslingas vienos pacientės dingimo aplinkybes. Pagrindinis herojus – maršalas, WW2 veteranas, matęs nacių koncentracijos stovyklą, kadaise turėjęs šeimą, kuri visa keistom aplinkybėm žuvo. Žodžiu, jie užsiima tyrimu ir pamažu paaiškėja įvairių įdomybių. Kad saloj atliekami eksperimentai su žmonėm, kad įtariai žiūri į maršalą ir nenori, kad būtų atskleista tiesa.
