"Charles Darwin and the Tree of Life" (2009)

Good documentary about the Theory of Evolution. I liked that everything is told in a smooth chronological order: the Bible, Darwin's journey with the Beagle, his fascination with fauna of Galapagos Islands, writing up of the Theory of Evolution and the final printing of it after 20 years of research. Later story goes into 20th century's research and describes the connection of it with Darwin’s and his followers’ ideas which Darwin couldn't prove by himself but that were proved in modern science.

I like two things about this movie: the narrator bases his arguments on his own geological experience when he is talking about fossils. Also, in this movie there are some episodes from 30 years old documentary that was created and narrated by the same narrator. It is nice that narrator's voice is exactly the same as 30 years ago, although now he is grizzled. :)

Gera dokumentika apie evoliucijos teoriją. Man patiko, kad viskas tvarkingai chronologiškai išdėstyta: Biblija, Darvino kelionė Beagle'u, jo susižavėjimas gyvūnija Galapagų salyne, evoliucijos teorijos rašymas ir po dvidešimtmečio tyrimų jos paskelbimas. Vėliau pereinama į 20 amžiaus tyrimus ir juos sieja su Darvino ar jo pasiekėjų idėjomis, kurių jis pats negalėjo patvirtinti, bet patvirtino šiandieninis mokslas.
Du filmo aspektai suteikė jam žavesio - pats pasakotojas, kalbėdamas apie fosilijas, pridėjo savo kaip geologo patirtį ir filme vietomis naudojama medžiaga iš iš kito 30 metų senumo dokumentinio filmo, kurį sukūrė ir kuriame šneka tas pats pasakotojas. Gera stebėti, kad nors ir pasakotojas po 30 metų gerokai pražilęs, bet jo balsas nė kiek nepasikeitęs. :)
