„Swing Vote” (2008)

The girl grows up with a father who is a regular guy - has a regular job, like drinking. Meanwhile, his daughter is a sincere patriot and a good school student. On election day, the father promised to his daughter to go to vote, although he at least care about the election. On that day he is fired from a job, spend all evening in a bar and remember to vote too late. He unsuccessfully tries to hurry, but does not reach the ballot box. Meanwhile, his daughter, seeing that her father won’t come, sneaks to poll, preparing to vote in favor of his father, but electric power is lost (electronic voting system) and the bulletin of the father remains stuck in the device.
And then there is a global turmoil - the two candidates got the same number of votes and a father whos bulletin stucked in a device, will determine who becomes president. Soon in a regular city drive all-American media, candidates hold an unprecedented election campaign for one voter.

Praktiškai neįmanoma aplinkybe paremtas filmas, įrodantis, kad kiekvieno rinkėjo balsas yra svarbus. Filmas, kurio svarbiausia tema – tėvo ir dukters meilė.
Mergaitė auga su tėvu, kuris yra paprastas žmogelis – dirba paprastą darbą, mėgsta girtauti. Tuo tarpu jo dukra nuoširdi patriotė ir pavyzdinė mokyklos mokinė. Rinkimų dieną tėvas pažadėjo dukrai nueiti balsuoti, nors jam tie rinkimai mažiausiai rūpi. Tačiau tą dieną yra išmetamas iš darbo, užgeria bare ir vėlai prisiminęs, kad reikia balsuoti, nesėkmingai bando skubėti, tačiau balsadėžės nepasiekia. Tuo tarpu dukra, matydama, kad tėvo nebesulauks, pati prasliūkina į balsavimo punktą, jau rengiasi balsuot už tėvą, tačiau dingsta elektra (elektroninės balsavimo sistema) ir tėvo biuletenis lieka įstrigęs aparate.
O tada kyla visuotinis sąmyšis – du pretendentai surinko vienodai balsų ir herojus, kurio biuletenis įstrigo, nulems, kas taps prezidentu. Į paprastą miestelį suguža visos Amerikos žiniasklaida, o pretendentai surengia neregėto masto rinkiminę kampaniją vienam rinkėjui.
