„Oorlogswinter“/“ Winter in Wartime“ (Netherlands, Belgium, 2008)

WW2 end - the beginning of 1945, a young man becomes included in the resistance war vortex. Near his home falls English airplane, the pilot survives and the young man tries to help him to escape the Nazis area. There aer told many emotions: love, betrayal, hatred, forgiveness, revenge, self-sacrifice. Military background sutes well for these feelings.

WW2 pabaiga – 1945 metų pradžia, vienas jaunuolis nejučiom įtraukiamas į rezistencinį karo verpetą. Netoli jo namų nukrenta anglų lėktuvas, pilotas išsigelbsti ir jaunuolis stengiasi jam padėti išsprukti į nacių teritorijos. Nemažai jausmų išpasakojama: meilė, išdavystė, neapykanta, atleidimas, kerštas, pasiaukojimas. Karo fonas pats tinkamiausias jausmams gvildenti.

Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)

New York, in a beautiful girl‘s neighborhood moves in a young man, in whom the girl atarts to be. But the girl is also attracted to the money. Huge house parties unhappy Japanese neighbor, a wonderful song "Moon River" and the old cozy slow flow of the film.

New Yorke į gražios miargos kaimynystę atsikrausto vienas jaunuolis, kuriuo ana ir susidomi. Bet tą miargą ir pinigai traukia. Milžiniški vakarėliai namuose, nepatenkintas kaimynas japonas, nuostabi daina „Moon river“ ir jaukiai lėta senojo filmo tėkmė.

„Kundun“ (1997)

The Dalai Lama's childhood, adolescence and exodus to India. Great spiritual movie. You can open chakras, and wipe a tear.

Dalai Lamos vaikystė, jaunystė ir egzodas į Indiją. Puikus dvasinis filmas. Galima ir čakras atvert, galima ir ašarą braukt.

„Young Victoria“ (UK, USA, 2009)

A film about Great Britain‘s the longest ruled Queen Victoria's youth. At the beginning about her dependence upon adults, when she couldn‘t rule because of her young age. Later about her feelings. A quiet, simple, cute costume drama.

Filmas apie ilgiausiai karaliavusios D. Britanijos karalienės Viktorijos jaunystę. Pradžiai visišką priklausomybę nuo suaugusiųjų, kol negalėjo valdyt – per jauno amžiaus. Vėliau ir jausmų pasaulis. Ramus, paprastas, mielas kostiuminis filmas.

„Kai apkabinsiu tave“/“Back to Your Arms“ (Lithuania, 2010)

Split Berlin into two parts of ideaology, several months before the Berlin wall construction. Girl wants to meet her father. For a long time they secretly corresponded with intent to meet in Berlin. They don’t know each other, but rely on their friends, or embassies. They easilly stack in the diplomatic trap.
Seen this film while degustating during Thomas Mann festival. Films‘, talked in 4 languages, subtitles were not practically possible be seen so film was not deeply understood.
Once I saw a program about the film, so the plot was familiar for me. Must commend the good work of Lithuanians.

Suskilęs Berlynas į dvi idealogines dalis, keli mėnesiai prie, Berlyno sienos statybas. Mergiotė nori susitikti su savo tėvu, ilgą laiką slapta susirašinėjo, ketindami susitikti Berlyne. Vienas kito nepažįstantys, bet pasikliaunantys savo draugais arba ambasadomis. Gerokai įklimpę veikėjai į diplomatines pinkles.
Žiūrėtas filmas bedegustuojant per Tomo Mano festivalį, filme šnekėta 4 kalbomis, titrų praktiškai nebuvo įmanoma matyti, tad pilnai filmas neįsisavintas.
Mačiau kažkada laidą apie šį filmą, tad siužetas buvo žinomas. Reikia pagirti, kad geras lietuvių darbas.

„Paris, Texas“ (West Germany, USA, 1984)

Film is worth of attention. For several years, unseen brother suddenly appears in Texas. Silent, negligent, it is unclear if he knows that he has a son, who successfully grows in the another brother‘s family. Slowly the young man returns into a normal world. What will be the fate of his son, why did his family break what he‘ve done in the last few years, and why is he so crazy about Paris in Texas?

Filmas vertas dėmesio. Keletą metų nematytą brolis netikėtai atsiranda Teksase. Nešnekus, apsileidęs, neaišku, ar prisimena, kad turi sūnų, kuris sėkmingai auga kito brolio šeimoje. Pamažu jaunuolis grįžtaį normalų pasaulį. Koks bus jo sūnaus likimas, kodėl iširo jo šeima, ką veikė jis pastaruosius keletą metų ir kodėl taip pamišęs dėl Paryžiaus Teksase?

„Alice in den Städten“/“Alice in the Cities“ (Germany, 1974)

German film. Watched over by Thomas Mann festival film program. We almost couldn‘t see subtitles, we degustated quite enough... The film depicts a love triangle. a young man meet with one girl, but with with the other who is with a girl go away. Such a strange movie. I do not remember how did it finish.

Vokiečių filmas. Žiūrėjom per Thomo Manno festivalio filmų programą. titrų beveik nematėm, buvo gerokai įdegustuota... O filme vaizduojamas meilės trikampis. jaunuolis su viena miarga suspažįsta, o su kita ir jos vaiku i.keliauja. Toks keistas filmas. Nepamenu, kaip baigės.

„Kingdom of Heaven“ (2005)

This is the perfect film. I watched it for the second time. The Crusades (this time not against the Lithuanians). The action takes place before the Third Crusade, when Richard Lionheart went to a duel against Saladin. In short, Jerusalem still belonged to Christians, more activists arrived in Jerusalem, the king, who managed to live peacefully with Muslims, already was counting its last days. After that came Battle of Hattin (1187) and Jerusalem siege.
In short, amazing film, both militarily and artisticly.

Va čia tai tobulas filmas. antrą kartą pasižiūrėjau. Kryžiaus žygiai (šį kartą ne prieš lietuvius). Veiksmas vyksta prieš Trečiąjį Kryžiaus žygį, kai Ričardas Liūtaširdis ėjo į dvikovą su Saladinu. Žodžiu, Jeruzalė kolei kas priklausė krikščionims, atvyko daugiau gynėjų, Jeruzalės karalius, kuris sugebėjo taikiai sugyventi su musulmonais, jau paskutines savo dienas skaičiavo. Po to filme sekė Hattino mūšis (1187) ir Jeruzalės šturmas.
Žodžiu, nuostabus filmas, tiek kariniu požiūriu, tiek vaidybiniu.

„The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian“ (2008)

Finally watched unseen film from the film series. Well, good movie. Here the main characters meet Prince Caspian. In the battle they are led by belief that the lion Aslan is still alive. In short, as long as no one has ever finished, do not stop believing.

Galų gale pažiūrėjau nematytą filmą iš šių filmų serijos. Nugi geras filmas. Čia pagrindiniai veikėjai susitinka princą Kaspianą, o mūšyje į priekį veda tikėjimas, kad liūtas Aslanas yra gyvas. Žodžiu, kol dar niekas nėra baigta, nenustok tikėjęs.

”BBC: Gladiators: The Brutal Truth” (1999)

Gladiator life and death, Chainsaw entertainment, venues, network, etc. In short, a program about Roman entertainment, and its narrator is one of Monty Python actors.
