”First Invasion: The War Of 1812” (2004)

It is probably the first documentary movie in which I didn't defest American culture or nation.
Brilliant times of line infantry and line ships! Europe had fought unwearied various wars for 20 years, England's army is hardened by battles, navy is the strongest in the world, but America decleared the war to England because they were dissapointed by commercial restrictions, capture of sailors by British navy and that they help Indians in their war against America... War had lasted for 3 years, in it White House was burned down, 3 major battled were fought. In the first one Americans heavilly lost and English burned down the White House, in the second Americans stood strong against English in they stronghold near Baltimore and in the third near New Orlean they totally crushed English army.
Third battle was special in that case, that it was fought after peace treaty, after two weeks. News about the peace returned into America after two months. Three moajor English generols were killed, ~2000 English were dead, wounded or missing, while in America side this number was just ~50.
Of course, this war is a sand box, compeared with Napoleonic wars in Europe, but movie is for sure right.

Nuostabiausi linijinių psėtininkų ir linijinių laivų laikai! Europa jau 20 metų nepailstamai kariauja, Anglijos kariuomenė užgrūdinta mūšių, laivynas galingiausias pasaulyje, bet Amerika nepakęsdama prekybinių santykių su Anglija, kad Anglija grobia Amerikos jūreivius ir remia indėnus kovoje su amerikonais ir t.t., paskelbė karą Anglijai. Karas truko trejus metus, per jį sudeginti Baltieji rūmai, kovoti trys didesni mūšiai, kurių viename anglai nušlavė amerikonus ir suniokojo Vašingtoną, antrame amerikonai atsilaikė tvirtovėje prie Baltimorės ir trečiame prie Niu Orleano visiškai sutriuškino anglų puolimą.
Trečias ypatingas tuo, kad vyko jau pasirašius taiką, maždaug po poros saivaičių, o žinia apie taiką Vašingtoną pasiekė po poros mėnesių. Trys didžiausi anglų generolai žuvo, anglų nužudyta, sužeista ar dingę ~2000, amerikonų ~50.
Žinoma, palyginus su Napoleono karais Europoje, čia smėlio dėžė, bet filmas tikrai teisingas :)

"Idioti" (1998)

How to express myself gentlier... Original movie. A movie was hold in a comupter to some purpose.
Here is performed social experiment - some people live in one house and act like idiots - they go into public places and observe how react others. A movie begins that suddenly unbrave girl joins them. Eating in a restorant, excursion through a factory, swimming in a pool...
I was admired by toleration of "normal" people.

Kaip čia švelniau išsireiškus... Savotiškas filmas. Neveltui kompe gulėjo gerus metus.
Atliekamas socialinis eksperimentas - keletas žmonių susibėgo į chebrą ir vaidina idiotus - gyvena bendrai, lankosi viešose vietose ir stebi, kaip reaguoja aplinkiniai. Prie jų netikėtai prisijungia nedrąsi mergina - nuo to filmas ir prasideda. Maitinimasis restorane, ekskursija po fabriką, maudynės baseine...
Sužavėjo ”normalių” žmonių tolerancija :)

"The Lake House" (2006)

Well made Hollydoowian (:)) movie. Sandra Bullock with Kean Reeves. Magic post box let two guys to communicate with each other by letters from past/future. Well, they are separated by 2 years.
Well, a movie neither dissapointed, nor glamoured. Romantic drama made by allmost all Hollydoowian demands.

Gerai sukaltas holiduvinis filmas. Sandra Bullock su Keanu Reeves. Magiška pašto dėžutė leidžia dviems jaunuoliams rašyti laiškus į praeitį/ateitį vienas kitam, nors juos skiria 2 metai.
Filmas nei nuvylė, nei baisiai pakerėjo. Romantinė drama pagal beveik visus holiduvinius reikalavimus.

"Heima" (2007)

Perfect movie!
Brilliant music, brilliant nature of Iceland. It is a documentary about a band Sigur Rós that came back from tour around the world and hold free concerts tour around the Iceland. It doesn't matter if tens or hundrets people come to listen concerts.
It is difficult to describe a style of music. Compositions seems like a rock by idealogy, alternative by performance, but sometimes it goes into psychodelic.
Have a nice listening!

Puikus filmas!
Nuostabi muzika, nuostabūs Islandijos vaizdai. Tai dokumentinis filmas apie grupę Sigur Rós, kuri grįžusi po turnė po pasaulį surengė nemokamų koncertų turą po Islandiją. Nesvarbu, ar į koncertus susirenka dešimt ar šimtas žmonių.
Žanrą nusakyt sunku. Kompozicijos pagal idealogiją atitinka roką, pagal atlikimą - alternatyvą, tačiau retkarčiais pereina į psichodeliką.

The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006)

Perfect movie about Irish liberation movement. As I like Historical movies, especially if they aren't abour World Wars, so I liked it comprehensively. Movie rounds about two brother who take a part in IRA movement. In the movie British are shown how bad are they - well, normal soldiers who behave like invaders - torture rebels, kill people who resist. One of brothers has to do really hard duty - to kill his friend from childhood, because he was traitor.
It seems that freedom is really near, peace treaty is writen, but for Ireland is given dominion rights. So Irish resistance movement spare into two groups - one for dominion and another for real freedom. It is quite easy to guess that two brothers choose different sides of barricade.

Puikus filmas apie airių išsivadavimo judėjimą. Kadangi man patinka istoriniai filmai, ypač jei jie ne apie pasaulinius karus. tai visapusiškai užskaitau filmą.
Filmas sukasi apie du brolius, kurie prisijungia prie IRA judėjimo. Filme vaizduoja kokie britai blogi - normalūs kareiviai, besielgiantys kaip okupantai - kankina sukilėlius, žudo besišakojančius žmones. Ir vienam iš brolių tenka nelengva užduotis, kurią jis įvykdo - nužudyti savo vaikystės draugą, nes jis išdavė sukilėlius britams.
Rodos laisvė jau gauta - rašomasi taika, bet Airijai priskiriama dominijos teisė, tad airių visuomenė skyla į dvi grupes - vieni už dominiją, kiti už visišką laisvę. Gana lengva nuspėti, kad du broliukai pasirenka skirtingas barikadų puses.

”The Girl Next Door” (2007)

I swear that I didn't expect such severe movie. When I run though movie I saw some oppresion scenes, but I didn't expect so huge.
A movie is about a boy and girl, who live in neighbourhood. Parents of girl are dead during a crash, so she with her sister stays at her aunt with three cousins. Mother everyday drinks, smokes and let to drink her kids. But it isn't a point. She is sadist and psychopath and her victim is that girl who stays at them.
Cruel movie.

Prisipažinsiu, kad tokio sunkaus filmo nesitikėjau. Prasukęs filmą mačiau, kad yra engimo scenų, bet kad ant tiek...
Filmas sukasi apie bernioką ir merginą, gyvenančius kaimynystėje. Merginos tėvai mirę avarijoje, tad ji glaudžiasi su savo sese pas tetą su trim savo pusbroliais. Mama kasdieną geria, rūko ir savo vaikus girdo. Ne čia esmė. Pasirodo ji sadistė-psichopatė, o jos auka, besiglaudžianti pas juos mergina.
Žiaurus filmas.

”Peaceful Warrior” (2006)

In the beginning it is quite boring movie, but later ir straightened and was quite watchable. I liked it of life philosophy thoughts that were said.
here a guy is a cool gymnast and wants to qualify to Olympic games, but he has problems with his morale. Then he meets an old man "Socrates" who teaches him philosophy of life. Then a crash appears, a leg of a guy is crumbled, but hero is courage to overtake any obstacles.
To sum up, there are right thoughts. For ex., "we are happy trying to reach our objective, but not when we reach it".

Pradžiai gan nuobodokas filmas, bet paskui pasitaisė ir visai buvo žiūrimas. Patiko išsakytomis gyvenimo filosofijos mintimis.
Čia jaunuolis gimnastas yra kietas gimnastas, nori patekt į Olimpiadą, bet su morale nesusitvarko, tadu susipažįsta su senioku ”Sokratu”, kuris jį moko gyvenimo filosofijos. Pasitaiko avarija, jaunuoliui sutrupinama koja. Bet herojus drąsus įveikti kliūtis.
Žodžiu, yra teisingų minčių. Pvz., ”mes būname laimingi, siekdami savo tikslo, o ne jį pasiekę”

”Zeitgeist. The Movie” (2007)

Perfecto! Fantastic documentary. Of course, there exists some conspiracy theories, but quite a lot truth were said. I recomend it for EVERYBODY common sense watchers, who knows that we are manipulated by people who want to manipulate us.
THree stages of movie: 1. Christianity is transformed Pagan belief, The Bible refers to Astronomy. 2. September 11 is thoroughly planed by Goverment to intimidate their nation. 3. Banks tule the world and wars are the sest buisiness.

Išnešė! Nuostabi dokumentika! Aišku, šiokių tokių sąmokslo teorijų yra, bet labai daug tiesos pasakyta. Rekomenduoju VISIEMS sveiko proto žiūrovams, kurie žino, kad esame manipuliuojami žmonių, kurie nori mus manipuliuoti.
Trys pakopos filme: 1. Krikščionybė - transformuotas pagonių tikėjimas, o biblija tiksliai remiasi astronomija. 2. Rugsėjo 11 kruopščiai suplanuotas valdančiųjų asmenų, siekiant įbauginti savo tautą. 3. Bankai valdo pasaulį, o karai pats geriausias biznis.

”Simpson Movie” (2007)

I am not a fan of Simpsons, so I can't write any line of a fan lost in euphoria. This movie was in my PC for a year and finally I watched it. Simpsonic movie, there are funny episodes. Everything starts from terrible lake pollution, but later in the movie it is forgotten and no more remembered. Of course, there egzist more important problems, but...
Everything in the end of movie is ideal, as it is necessary for Simpsons, but come on, polluted lake need decades to set again :)

Nesu Simpsonų mėgėjus, tad negaliu skelti euforijoj pasiklydusio gerbėjo eilučių. Gulėjo šis filmas kompe metus, galų gale peržiūrėjau. Simsoniškas filmas, smagių epizodų yra. Viskas prasideda nuo baisingos ežero taršos, bet filmui įsibėgėjus ji tampa pamirštama ir vėliau nebeprisimenama. Aišku, svarbesnių problemų yra, bet... Kaip Simpsonams ir priklauso viskas filmo pabaigoj yra idealu. bet come on, užterštam ežerui atsistatyt reikia dešimtmečių :)

”Veronika Decides to Die” (2009)

It is quite watchable movie. During the movie it looked rather boring for me, but in the end I liked it. In the beginning of the movie a girl quickly looks at her future boring life (job, husband who little by little stops loving her, children, lovers of the husband), mixes a cocktail of drugs and whiskey and a few weeks later she wakes up in the loony-bin. Sudden diagnosis, strange doctors and a beautiful not-talking guy appears. Step by step the heroine finds again the meaning of her life, while a chance to survive no longer exists.. 
I liked sounds of piano.

LT:
Visai žiūrimas filmas. Bežiūrint jis man rodės nuobodokas, bet į galą visai patiko. Čia mergiotė filmo pradžioj staigiai išnagrinėja savo būsimą nuobodų gyvenimą (darbas, vyras, kuris pamažu nustoja mylėti, vaikai, vyro meilužės), susimaišo vaistų ir viskio miksą ir po poros savaičių pabunda psichiatrinėj ligoninėj. Netikėta diagnozė, keisti daktarai ir dar gražus nekalbus jaunuolis pasipainioja. Pamažu herojė atranda gyvenimo prasmę, kai jau nebėra galimybių išgyventi..
Patiko pianino skambesys
